Preschool Dance

Jazz
Dynamic and energetic, jazz combines technical skill with a flair for performance. Students develop strong stage presence, coordination, and confidence through diverse musical styles and choreography.
Hip-Hop

Acrobatics

Everything you need to know!
What should I bring to class?
Come prepared with appropriate dance shoes for your style, comfortable dancewear or uniform, a water bottle, and hair ties or pins for securing long hair. We'll provide everything else you need for a successful class.
How important is regular attendance?
Consistent attendance is essential for progress and safety. Dance builds on previous learning, so missing classes makes it challenging to keep up with new skills and choreography. Regular attendance also helps maintain the supportive group dynamic that makes our classes special.
Do students need to practise at home?
While we achieve a lot in class, home practice helps students progress faster and maintain flexibility. This becomes especially important when preparing for exams, competitions, or performances. We provide guidance on what to practise between lessons.
Are examinations compulsory?
Examinations are optional but highly recommended. They provide valuable feedback on progress and give students clear goals to work towards. We're proud of our 100% examination pass rate, with many students achieving distinction levels and even teaching qualifications.
What about competitions and performances?
Competition participation is entirely optional. For students who choose to compete, we offer both group troupe work and solo opportunities. All competitive work requires commitment to additional rehearsals and practice, but provides invaluable performance experience and builds tremendous confidence.
How do you communicate with families?
We keep families informed through regular email communication, our website, notice boards in the studio, and direct communication in Band and the MY UBC PORTAL as needed. Important information about timetable changes, events, and costume requirements is shared well in advance through multiple channels.
What are your class sizes like?
We deliberately keep class sizes smaller to ensure every student receives individual attention and personalised corrections. This maintains our supportive, family atmosphere whilst allowing our teachers to focus on each student's development and safety.
